International Book Giveaway and Ruth Eastham on how photography inspires writing

Today SCBWI's own Ruth Eastham guest blogs over on Absolute Vanilla about how photography inspires her writing.  There are also two copies of Ruth's fantastic new novel, The Messenger Bird, being given away.

I read The Messenger Bird in one sitting - unusual for me - but it really was that "unputdownable" - pacy, gripping and an action packed adventure, it's well worth the read and will definitely appeal to children aged 10 and older.

But I'll leave it to Ruth to tell you how a picture can inspire a thousand words...
