Eric Heyman emailed me to ask how to put pictures on his Ning page. One way is to use your blog to feature your work.

1.click 'Add a New Blog Post'

2. Give it a title ('Post Title'), write some text to describe the image.

3. Click on the icon of a camera (when you hover over it, a tool tip appears saying 'Add an image'

4. Clicking on it allows you to choose a file from your computer or enter a url from a web page.

Another way is to put your pictures on something like Flickr or Picasa and create a slideshow. just paste the embed code into the places where you write your text.

But if you have any energy for it, it's useful to learn how to do it with code. It's not hard. It just means you have to think a little bit more.

The other way is to use a image hosting and photo organizing website like Flickr or Photobucket. I like to use Photobucket :

1. Sign up for an account

2. Upload your photos following the instructions.

3. Your pictures look like this on Photobucket
:

4. As you can see, in the box marked 'Direct Address' it gives you a URL (web address eg. http://www.nameofwebsite.com). click and copy it.

5. You can insert images into your text by using the following code:

<img src="http://urlofpicture.com/name.jpg" width="200px" />"

if you want to align it (eg center it or make it range left or right, you need to sandwhich the code above with 'divs' like so:

<div align="center"> <img src="http://urlofpicture.com/name.jpg" align="center" width=&quot200px" /> </div>

you can use "center", "left", or "right" as values for the 'align' tag. you can also set a width in pixels (don't forget to add the px). if you don't know anything about widths. just delete the number when you paste this in like so:

width=""

See the images on my page? That's how I did it!
