The Ning has finally improved its interface and you might notice that you can now easily add images and format blog posts using the buttons that have appeared above the input windows.

But how do you add images to your page if you're not using the blog?

There are several ways.

1. You can use an app like Photogrid from one of the Ning apps. To add an app, go to 'Your Page' and click on "+Add Apps" to view all the available apps. Click on the 'photos' tag on the left to view all the photo oriented apps.

2. You can also embed images from a photo host like Picasa, Flickr or Photobucket. These websites allow you to upload your images and then give you embed code to put into the html of your website. You might notice that I have images on my profile. The images are hosted on Flickr. I obtained the embed code via the 'share' features of Flickr (you'll have to play around with your host site, but usually it's a 'share' button). To embed images in the "Profile" Section of your Ning page:

  • click on the 'edit' button just across from 'profile'
  • you get the 'my settings' page
  • under 'profile questions', you can paste your images in the boxes. (if you don't enter anything, the questions don't appear on the page ... the last question 'are you a member'  is mandatory but only visible to admin and you)
