Good news. My three book offer from Meadowside.

I have just secured a three book offer from Meadowside Books, award winning publishers of picture books, who are now building their older fiction list, which is also winning awards. The first book in my linked cycle of three novels set on Hayling Island may come out as early as October 2010. Exciting times and lots of work ahead. Watch this space!

Thanks eveyone for your comments and Candy for suggesting a bouncy castle. What a (sort of) wonderful idea?! On a more writerly note, perhaps I could have a slot at the next conference championing contemporary gritty Y.A. fiction, which I believe is coming back into fashion.

i think you should book the bouncy castle for the launch. also, it's good that it's being published in good time for the scbwi confererence.

This is fantastic news, Miriam - congratulations! Did we hear some of your first book at the writers' retreat? Powerful storytelling - I hope so!
