Voice Week (Day Five) ~ Rose Tinted Glasses

I replace the receiver back on the phone and sink my back into the cushions resting on the wooden chair; I tilt my head backwards and smile, this is perfect, too perfect, things are actually going to turnout ok…finally I have the perfect reason to leave, no guilt to harbour, our vows, now rendered redundant,

Voice Week (Day Four) ~ Rose Tinted Glasses

The phone rings at the same time, each day, every day…I daren’t answer it, so I do not…I just watch it light-up with each buzz.  The news is rarely good, I’ve seen it in my dreams…so I do not answer, just watch it each and every day, hoping for its silence. Subconsciously I go to

Voice Week (Day Three) ~ Rose Tinted Glasses

Warning:  Strong language used, please read with caution.  16+).  It’s been hours since…the phone on the oak desk smiles smugly at me, willing me -no, taunting me to make the call, but I shan’t, I shouldn’t listen to those thoughts, Tom said I mustn’t, that they do not speak the truth, that they lie…but he

Voice Week (Day Two) ~ Rose Tinted Glasses

I slam the receiver onto the phone, the oak desk underneath creaks in response -how could he?  How dare he -and with her -of all the people, Clara my sister,  my blood -how could they?  I punch with my bare fists onto the desk and recoil (flinching) then punch again and again, my knuckles red raw.  My body

Profile

About Me
The eldest of three siblings, Ozlem grew up between two countries British by birth ethnic origin Turkish, current habitat London. Her creative passion started with a pencil followed onto a paintbrush, found a pen then utilised a camera. Ozlem studied BA (Hons) Fine Art with Related Arts at University of Chichester; she exhibited her artworks as part of her degree show in June 2000. She has worked in various fields in the private, public and charity sectors but has found her calling as a writer.

Poet from an early age and blogger since March 2011, she strives to make her mark; Ozlem has embarked on her writing career February 2011, she is the author of several Poems, Articles, Guest Posts, Flash Fictions & Short Stories. Ozlem is currently writing her first novel, examples of her work can be found on her blog (yikici).
What are you working on at the moment?
I am working on two projects, one's a YA Short Story (Moon of Change) the second is my first YA novel (Becoming - Mystical Realisations); both titles are subject to change.

Moon of Change is a fantasy story with elements of prose woven into it. I explore the realm of Merlin; but with new characters and twists involving dragons. Moon of Change actually stemmed out from a Flash Fiction I wrote last year.

Becoming - Mystical Realisations is a fantasy novel with elements of Romance, Horror and some Paranormal traits. The story literally jumped out at me after I saw three dreams (all different -yet part of a collective to make it whole). It's a story of legends -a legend of numbers and how the one will save humanity and all beings with one light. A story about Worlds colliding, innocence being led astray, awakenings of the soul and a journey into light.
