Haven't been here for a while and just checked in to see Sue Eve's lovely video outakes. Really cheered me up - that and the fact that i managed to find clear space to write today even though it is half term -what would we all do without friends

It's behind you!

My 40th birthday that is. I have done it - celebrated in style by dying my hair purple and pink and going to see Biggins in Panto. Ah yes, I embarrassed my children not only by hissing loudly at the pantomime dames but also by looking like one myself. I am quite excited about being 40 as apparantly I can now legally wear fancy dress all the time! Fantastic eh?

Why so many pandas?

Do pandas have a talent for writing or illustrating - why so many of them? Is it the bamboo? Should I add it to my diet? Or am I missing something? Is Scbwi populated by a mysterious underclass of black and white bears? I'm pretty sure there weren't too many at the conference - but it was cold so maybe I missed them as they were muffled up in hats and coats.

Hmmm - perhaps it is my lack of pandaness that is holding me up - that or the fact I am writing this rubbish instead of my new novel.....

Hi Kathy,
Mortlock comes out end of 2010 at the moment but there was talk of earlier. We'll just have to wait and see! I bet it won't be too scary for a tough cookie like you! :)

Farmer's wife, mother of two, I write every spare minute I have - there aren't many spare one's so I have to make them count. What a stupid thing to write, minutes can't count - clearly my plan is going wrong somewhere.......
What are you working on at the moment?
While waiting to hear about my teen novel 'Skin' - a dark futuristic story with a spoonful of horror - I am working on Dylan and Mouse - see my winning pitch!
