About Me
I'm a published illustrator and an unpublished author.
I worked for 20 years in the animation industry, in the art department and visual development for Dreamworks.
After having my daughter in 2003 I left animation and concentrated on illustration.
What are you working on at the moment?
A Storytime Sticker book for Sterling Publishing.
If you had to recommend just one children's book you've read in the last year, what would it be?
The Princess who had No Kingdom by Ursula Jones and Sarah Gibb
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
That whenever I go to conferences or seminars how much publishers and agents and anyone else working in the industry, love to tell you "How hard it is to get into illustrating and get published" and to get a picture book you have to be soooooo special.

Congratulations on your portfolio award, Julia. You must be really chuffed. I hope you found the conference useful - the programme looked wonderful. I hope to make it one year soon! Anna
