About Me
I write YAF and 7+ novels. I lecture in various aspects of creative writing at the University of Winchester at both post and undergraduate level. I co-edit the ejournal write4children (www.write4children.org) and recently completed and passed a creative writing PhD. Check out my blog at http://chaosmos-outofchaoscomesorder.blogspot.com
What are you working on at the moment?
I finished a realist YAF novel called HAM AND JAM which my PhD examiners absolutely loved and is currently with a publisher. I am now working on a novel aimed at 7+ which is called THE BOOK PROTECTORS' DAUGHTER and another YAF called DISJOINTED which I wrote a few years ago and am rewriting.
If you had to recommend just one children's book you've read in the last year, what would it be?
Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
Something I always tell my students to do is to read your work out loud but I have now learnt not just to read it but to perform it. It really helps to find when sentences aren't working or are clunky.
