About Me
I'm a Dutch/Finnish/Canadian/Australian with a selection of passports and visas, who has been a scientist/lawyer/optometrist/manager/sci tech/literacy promoter/writer.
Makes me dizzy just thinking about it.
What are you working on at the moment?
Freeze Frame: novel for 9-12 or 11plus or YA, depending on how I feel at the moment;
Crystal Might: YA novel (hurrah! a decisive moment);
'Roots' (working title) YA novel.
Makes me dizzy just thinking about it.
If you were asked to recommend just one children's book published this year, what would it be?
Sonya Hartnett, The Ghost's Child
(er.. ok, maybe it is 2007. But the copy I read said 2008, so I am sticking to it)
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
read, read, read...

Hi Teri, someone suggested 1 or 2 chapters and a synopsis, although I don't have a synopsis at the mo so I shall skip that part. Apparently there is now a 5th person coming! It's all very exciting. I'll e-mail you by the end of today. Got to write now as I only have an hour and a half till school pick up!!

Hi Teri, it'll be great to see you. I'm very happy to pick you up and will e-mail my mobile no so that you can ring me if the train gets delayed.
Liz Morris and Tracy Buchanan are both going to be there, I think they both have jobs as web editors in their companies. I hope I've got that right! I will e-mail you shortly. I'm probably bringing an early reader extract which should baffle all you YA writers!

Hi Teri, the train station is opposite the bus station and both v near Borders. I'm still v happy to pick u up especially as u don't where you're going yet. We could sit and have a coffee while we wait for the others. What do u think? As they are both YA writers they should have plenty of incite (and one has been shortlisted in the Cornerstones comp)

Its sat 17th Jan at 11am. MK bus station is very close to Borders and I can easily run you over there if u let me know what time the bus gets in. I think we're bringing work to discuss and swapping it to critique in detail afterwards if we want.

Hi, how's the new writing schedule going? I would be a lady who lunches for at least a little while - it could be fun although I guess money might be a slight problem. The thing is, that when you have too much time everything just takes you longer. Maybe that's just me.
There are 2 others in MK, and we are meeting up in mid Jan. They both do YA. Let me know if you want to join us - we're meeting in Borders on a saturday.

Hiya, Just a quick note to say Happy New Year! I decided not to make any resolutions yet until I have had time to think about them properly- it seems I have enough on my plate just now without trying to add more. Have you made any? I'm just hoping to get these books finished by the end of January. Maybe after that I will resolve to not procrastinate, maybe...
