I'm about to print off my submission for the undiscovered authors and when I looked again at the rules for submission, it says that your name can't appear anywhere except the cover sheet. But I've started my Bio with Susan K Franklin is...etc. Am I…

I read new moon first. I bought it to match my bedroom décor, sad I know. However, I did eventually read it after I'd run out of other books. I enjoyed it. So I went and bought the other two Twilight and Eclipse. I'm halfway through Twilight and it…

About Me
Writing for children of all ages hoping to inspire imagination and develop creativity. And all this in the pursuit of getting my first, second or even third book accepted somewhere by someone. In the meantime I'm still learning my craft through SCBWI, writers groups and with the support and encouragement from the children I work with. They tell me the truth - sometimes it hurts!
What are you working on at the moment?
I'm currently editing Silence Boy! and putting my entry for the Undiscovered authors together.
If you were asked to recommend just one children's book published this year, what would it be?
The Cat Who Liked Rain by Henning Mankell its been shortlisted for the RedHouse book awards.
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
To keep on trying until someone sees that I can do this.

Probably being obtuse, but I need advice.

I'm about to print off my submission for the undiscovered authors and when I looked again at the rules for submission, it says that your name can't appear anywhere except the cover sheet. But I've started my Bio with Susan K Franklin is...etc. Am I allowed this or not? Or should I start with She is a ...etc.? I really don't want to get this wrong. Can anyone help?

Brilliant plots but...

At my writers meeting last Wednesday one of the group said this:

Susan, you have some brilliant plot lines, and I'm sure they'll work well its just that...

I butted in with:

My plots are brilliant but my writings crap?

The response a flustered: NO!

By this time we were all laughing. I didn't dig any deeper just in case I was really right.

Hi Susan,
I was sad to not see you there. Yes, we all did lots of writing and laughing and eating and we may have had a glass of wine or two as well.

Hello, hello! Sorry it took me so long to accept your virtual friendship, but thought I didn't have to. I mean, I thought it was an automatic thing on the ning. Virtual friendship was accepted immediately in mind if not on the screen!

Good luck with the Undiscovered Voices!

hi susan - can you check your privacy settings? your blog doesn't allow me to comment or feature it on the front page of the ning. one suggestion for your page is to move the activity feed to the left hand sidebar. you can do this by clicking on the heading, holding the mousekey down while dragging it to where you want it. you can add features by clicking 'add applications' hope this helps!
