The Quiet Woman and the NOISY DOG by Sue Eves And Ailie Busby (Andersen Press 2009)

Profile

About Me
I write picture books and children's fiction. My 2nd picture book, The QUIET WOMAN And The NOISY DOG (illustrated by Ailie Busby), was published by Andersen Press (HB February/PB July 2009). I wrote and illustrated my first book, HIC! published by Bodley Head.

I had ambitions to be an actor and earned my equity card writing and performing with comedy duo Three Go Dutch. My first acting job was with OILY CART (the innovative children's theatre company) where I trained as a puppeteer. I went on to work in children's TV as a writer and puppeteer. I have written scripts for the Cbeebies programme , TIKKABILLA and have recorded over hundred programmes as the voice and operator of the puppet dragon, TAMBA. At the same time, HIC! became a featured story on Tikkabilla.
What are you working on at the moment?
Illustrations for two of my picture book texts and fiction for 7+ with co-writer Alix Parker under the pen name Fox E Parker.
If you were asked to recommend just one children's book published this year, what would it be?
A Little Guide To Trees illustrated by Charlotte Voake. Text by Kate Petty and Jo Elworthy. Published by Eden Project Books www.edenproject.com
It even tells you how to grow a living den from weeping willows.
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
I can draw with a biro

Hi, Sue!

I also wanted to be added to the picture book critique group waiting list, if such a thing exists. Thanks!
