About Me
I've been writing for children since Noah was a lad. Was fabulously lucky that my story, Danny Baker Record Breaker was selected to be included in the first "Undiscovered Voices" anthology. Since then, I've signed with an agent, and Macmillan have bought 8 Danny stories. The first two books will be published on 1st January 2010.

Apart from that, I've a sixteen year old daughter, so I'm constantly aggravated, and get rid of the angst by shooting arrows at a target when I can.

I'm going to see The Killers in March!!!

I know more than I wish to know about sputum.
What are you working on at the moment?
Danny Baker Record Breaker rewrites, and new stories.
Misericordia, a fantasy novel for 12+
Workshops for adults and kids.
If you were asked to recommend just one children's book published this year, what would it be?
Cosmic, by Frank Cotterell Boyce. Fab, laugh-out-loud funny.
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
Edit, edit, and edit again. Then repeat the process.

Hi Steve, been a while I know - I've been flattened by flu but happily recovering now. It's bad news about Borders and your comment brought home to me how I contribute by ordering from Amazon so often. Will go back to Waterstones immediately and also try to discover a local independent bookseller if such a thing remains! Hope you've got alternatives lined up..

Hi Steve, My first book in the cycle is due out October 2010, so I feel quite relaxed and laid back about it all at the moment. I'm sure that will change in the New Year!
Best, Miriam

Thanks, Steve. I've got the hang of it now. I'll get my husband to give me his take on me, but I think the whole family is Analytical and emotionally repressed. We need therapy!

Hi Steve, Good to catch up with you on the Conference and look forward to reading Danny Baker when it comes out. Good luck with all the writing. Best, Miriam

Thanks for your reply, and yes, I'd like to be your friend. You must have lots, being Amiable. My e-mail is donjanfoxley@tiscali.co.uk. I think my problem is that I couldn't decide whether I was L or C on a lot of the questions, so I guess I'm somewhere near the middle.

Hi Steve,
You don't know me, but I'm the one who asked you to speak louder as you went into the urinal. (That's the urinal anecdote in your talk, not an actual urinal. I don't hang about outside urinals accosting men.)
What I'd like to know is, do the axes on your behavioural style id chart correspond to the ones you gave us in the talk? What do E, X, L and C stand for. I ask because I'm coming out lion and I'm much nearer mouse.
Best wishes, Janet
