Profile

About Me
Author: YA and Children's, one award (big one) for DOOR OF NO RETURN, some shortlisted (also quite big ones), published by Hodder, Simon Schuster, Random House, Hot Key and Walker Books. Day job: full time teacher of English in the Inner City (gotta pay the mortgage), Education: Royal College of Art (won the Sanderson Scholarship), born and bred in Cheltenham, the Cotswolds, but lived half my life in Africa (Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana).
What are you working on at the moment?
Still thinking about what I have been working on which is: ANGEL DUST, fresh from the Hot Key Books launch list, an urban love story with a tragic twist - out on August 2nd 2012; meanwhile still working on editing SIEGE out 2013, Hodder Books - and also last but not least I'm working on a second book for Hodder for 2014.
If you had to recommend just one children's book you've read in the last year, what would it be?
ANGEL DUST - obvs! I want you ALL to read it!
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
You can find time to write even when there is no time at all - it's possible - believe me, I know.
