About Me
I draw pictures and write stories.
Check out my blog on the left of the page here for vitally important insights into my life and general random doodlings, and visit www.samzuppardi.com for more of my scribbly pictures.
I am represented by Kelly Sonnack at the Andrea Brown Literary Agency.
What are you working on at the moment?
My first picture book, The Nowhere Box, is due out in 2013 and will be published by Candlewick in the US and Walker Books in the UK. It's about a small boy who uses a cardboard box to escape his little brother by going Nowhere. The plan works better than he could have hoped...

I'm also working on illustrations for the second in a three book series – ‘The Misadventures of Edgar And Allan Poe' - by Gordon McAlpine, published by Viking/Penguin. The first book was out in January 2013. The series chronicles the adventures of two twin brothers who just happen to be the great-great-great-great grandnephews of Edgar Allan Poe.
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
Experiment, try new things, be aware of your comfort zone and try not to linger in it for too long.

Hey Sam, yes sorry I missed today as I was really looking forward to it and it would have been nice to catch up with you and the others and find out how your commissions are coming on :-) All going well I hope. Fingers crossed we will both manage to get to a scbwi meeting in the not too distant future!

My pleasure Sam, I'm sorry if I missed you out of the loop with the meal, it sort of developed from Stephanie and I going for a pizza and grew bit by bit! But we'll definitely do it again. I had a great time today and it was lovely to see you again. Can't wait to see your first book out - when's publication date?

Hi Sam, I'm just organising everything. there's a change in that we're meeting every other month starting in Feb, so we can have a December party. You'll be getting an email soon about the first (possibly even today!)

I shall be patient then! I know you're not coming to York but it would be great to be able to celebrate for you :) Thanks for the UV comment. It's all a bit weird really.
