About Me
Children's Writer - Former Course Leader of an MA in Creative Writing specialising in writing for children -
What are you working on at the moment?
Developing a sequel plot
My YA novel 'The Repossession' shortlisted for The Leeds Book Awards 2013 the sequel The Hunting is now out from Hodder
The YA time travel thriller The Repercussions of Tomas D is now available on Kindle
If you had to recommend just one children's book you've read in the last year, what would it be?
This year Ship Breakers by Paolo Bacigalupi. Last year Patrick Ness' 'Monsters of Men'
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
Getting the cover right takes a long time and it is worth it. The Repossession cover is brilliant as is The Hunting. Getting out there into the shops is important too and the hardest.

The Repossession now out in the shops.  Visit the website http://www.samhawksmoor.com and see the trailer.

Hodder have done a fantastic job and the book looks great with blue edged paper. (Only for the first edition so buy this one!)

Good first reviews as well. Cross fingers it is visible in the stores.

cheers

Sam

Hope to catch you on the 24th with some of the gang, I think Jan is popping along on the 17th too. Can't find you on Facebook though - you're not stalling are you? :)

I'm in Brum on the 17th, but meeting up with everyone this evening actually so I'm sure we can put together an outing to Petersfield on the 24th :)

Looking forward to it, some great things being said about it on goodreads and Twitter. I'm writing loads and self publishing my first novel in April - The Amber Room. Cover reveal in a fortnight - eek!

Hi Sam

I like your title.

Trying to come up with another title for mine, current strategy is writing all the key words from story on index cards and shuffling.

How did you get yours?
