Dear Nigel,
Good to meet you again here! That was quite a day at Primrose Hill. I've been working on a book called The StarChild with illustrations for a number of years, but I am currently writing a novel on Shape-Shifters/Vampires... seems to be a trend at the moment...this one is set in Oxfordshire. I love Will's illustrations and collect many of his paintings. I am starting a website at the moment: dwinagibb.co.uk Some of my illustrations are there under artwork. My illustrations are based on the types of illustrated faery tales in the Victorian era. Hope to have it published for next year. Are you illustrating your works? Amazing drawings. Love your titles. Have you been to any of the SCBWI meetings..I am brand new here and don't know my way around yet. Looks like a great organization.
Dwina.

Dear Nigel,
Hope to see some more of your work. Are you with OBOD re: Druidry? Also look forward to the legends based on the Grigori. Good luck with everything.
Dwina.

Profile

About Me
I trained as an Environamental Scientist, having a B.Sc. (hons) degree in Environmental Studies. Over the past decade I have also trained in a range of Holistic Therapies and also set up a successful holistic therapy practice. Within this I began to work in mental health. I currently work part time for MIND, the mental health charity, offering holistic therapies, relaxation strategies and stress management.

I have been writing novels and short stories for many years and have been a member of a local writers group for most of this time. I had my first published commission as an illustrator last year. This was for Tyne Bridge Publishing’s new novel “Walking with Witches” by Lynn Huggins- Cooper, in October 2008. I have illustrated a wide range of images for this publication, as well as many private commissions.

I have a great interest in spirituality which has been infused by my training in Druidry which began in 1988. I also have a strong interest in organics, biodynamic principles and conservation. I have also recently qualified as a Reiki Master.
What are you working on at the moment?
I am currently working on a novel based on the legends of the Watchers/Grigori and I'm hoping to find a publisher for this over the coming year. I'm also working on an oracle system based on these legends which I am writing and illustrating and hope to find a publisher for soon.
If you were asked to recommend just one children's book published this year, what would it be?
Walking with Witches by Lynn Huggins-Cooper
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
To keep going and never give up.... if you enjoy it, do it..... !!!!
