My first YA novel, Soul Beach, will be published by Orion Books in August 2011. I also write romantic comedies, scripts and articles. I've recently returned from living in beautiful Barcelona and am currently based in brilliant Brighton.
What are you working on at the moment?
I'm working on the second book in the Soul Beach trilogy - and also developing my next adult novel, which is based on my experiences of a fitness boot camp...
If you had to recommend just one children's book you've read in the last year, what would it be?
The Double Life of Cassiel Roadnight by Jenny Valentine was smart and seriously gripping.
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
As a newbie to the children's book publishing world, I'm learning loads from my editor, agent and other writers. The most exciting discovery for me so far how much fun it is to create a parallel world from scratch. Not something I've ever had the chance to do in my adult novels!
