Profile

About Me
I worked as a student administrator in south-east London but am now unemployed after being made redundant. I have been writing for at least 19 years now, but only for children the last 2. I have had short stories published in small press magazines, and letters in health, green and writing magazines.
What are you working on at the moment?
I am working on the edits of my first adult romance story shortly to be epublished with an epubliser. And finishing a book for 6-9 year-olds called Boring Billy and the Strange Socks, about a boy who's boring but gets to be clever when he wears socks that act strange.
If you had to recommend just one children's book you've read in the last year, what would it be?
Rewrite of Jacqueline Wilson's How to Survive Summer Camp. I love all her books.
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
Keep persevering. There are more opportunities and ways to get published now than before.

Sorry you couldn't make the social. It was such a shame about the weather. It stopped a lot of people getting out. Hope to see you at the next one in February :)

They've been out a while - starting in 2006. The main idea is to tell an environmental story through fantasy adventure - the Secret Society for the Protection of Mythical Creatures.
