About Me
I am an illustrator and college lecturer.
What are you working on at the moment?
I am currently studying for an MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University, UK

To see more examples of my recent drawings and illustrations please visit: http://juliagroves.blogspot.co.uk/
If you had to recommend just one children's book you've read in the last year, what would it be?
I love anything by Oliver Jeffers, Alexis Deacon, Marta Altes and Delphine Durand.
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
Always ask children what they think of your work, they're the best critics and they also give great advice.

Here is my winning UV2012 entry - Birdsong

Hi Julia, ah I'd love to hear more about the MA, it looks fantastic. You must be a busy bee working at CCN too alongside your beautiful illustration work. I worked there for a while as a sessional teaching the GNVQ's. I wasn't too good at controlling 16 year olds but it was a good learning curve! I've just had tea with Fiona and it would be great to all hook up at some point. Enjoy what's left of the Easter Hols! x

Hi Julia,

well we would be on the MA together had I not deferred (literally the day before term started!)..  Still - hoping to start in sept if poss. I thought your illustration for UV was beautiful - well done. It seems like a brilliant course and supportive too. I am hoping to pop up to cambridge to see the MA exhibition in March.  Anyway - nice to connect here.. Best wishes, Polly
