I'm a primary school teacher who enjoys writing children's stories. I have started to write both picture books and short chapter books. I have not been published yet except for a science magazine extract I wrote years ago. I am also a level 3 British Sign language signer for the deaf...and they do love stories.
What are you working on at the moment?
Completing 5 fictional, short serial stories about the adventures of famous individuals in the Kingdom of Buganda (Uganda). 3 of them are inspired by real historical events.
If you had to recommend just one children's book you've read in the last year, what would it be?
Diary of Wimpey Kid by Jeff Kinney- hilarious
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
Read and write, read and write, then check your work by reading it aloud or even acting it out to sort out those awkward sentences or to see if it sounds right.
