- About Me
- I'm originally from Missouri, but now live in Devon with my husband and son. Time is my greatest luxury. Other luxuries include: solitude, dark chocolate, fencing practice (foil), reading a really good book and, of course, writing.
- What are you working on at the moment?
- Trying to get my website up and running before Castle of Shadows is published on 7th January 2010, plus final edits on the second book, City of Thieves, which is coming out in August. Then I can get on with writing the third book, tentatively titled Consort of Queens.
- If you were asked to recommend just one children's book published this year, what would it be?
- Michelle Magorian's Just Henry.
- What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
- Don't let fear of failure make you settle for writing something small and timid. Set out to write the biggest, brightest book your imagination can hold. Then rewrite it, oh, at least a dozen times!

Holly Stacey said… - Ah, I haven't found a fencing club that fits my schedule yet, so I've taken up backyard archery instead - I've got this fantastic saracen (hun) bow. Writing is good. No big contracts, but it's nice to have my book in print. The next is going slowly - this one is a teen historical about a slave-cum-pirate.
I'm glad you're still on foil and not followed into the dark path of sabre or epee`!
