About Me
I've been writing for nearly thirty years, and I have had short stories published in magazines all over the world, but nothing beats the satisfaction of having a children's book published. My latest book, The Carrot Cake Catastrophe, published by Gullane came out in May and Rory's Robot (Frankllin Watts0 is out this month.

My greatest love of all is writing picture books, they're such fun, but I am rediscovering the joy of older fiction, too. I just love writing, it's the best job ever.

I'm married with 3 daughters, one of whom is a children's writer, too.
What are you working on at the moment?
Several picture books, a novel for 7-9 year-old girls and a novel for 8-10 year-old boys.
If you had to recommend just one children's book you've read in the last year, what would it be?
Someone Else's Life by Katie Dale
You might think I'm biassed and obviously I am, but even so it's the most amazing heart-rending twist and turn rollercoaster of a read - a really important subject tackled in a sensitive and moving way. A mixture of tears and laughter, posing a real-life dilemma and leaving the reader thinking 'What would I do if that was me?' Read with tissues - and when you have plenty of time because you won't want to put it down!
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
Re-writing is even more important than writing.

Hi Liz

I would love to join the Chichester SCWBI.  Can you tell me any more about it?  I can't believe you're in West Chilt!  Where abouts are you?

The writing is slow and steady.  I find it so hard juggling with work/family etc.  I'm also bogged down with all these websites and I never know if I'm writing in the correct spot! Hope to hear from you again.

Thanks for your message

Lizzie

Hi Elizabeth, I won't be going to the conference but will try to get to other SCBWI events in the coming year.
I am confident that you will quickly get to know everyone - SCBWI people are very friendly.
In the meantime if you are on Facebook you could request a friendship with me and I'll send you a link to the SCBWI FB group. There is a lot of activity on there.
