Eileen, we met tonight at the agent's party (it was a very good night). I was the one that lived in New York for 9 years, and I was sitting with a lady that was born in California. Well, I was supposed to pass on my contact details to you and that lady with us. However, I rushed off to get back to my kids and forgot to give you both my details. Worst still, I have forgotten the name of the other lady. She probably thinks that I am very rude for not telling her that I was leaving especially as we live minutes away and we could have travelled back home together. Anyway, do you remember her name?

I'm having the time of my life as an American living in London. It is a dream that I have realized. Next dream is to have one of my stories published.
What are you working on at the moment?
I'm working on a sort of fantasy fiction novel for 8-11 year olds. It's set at the lake that I grew up on in New Jersey.
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
Persistence, persistence, persistence.

3/4 of the way through the first draft and still sane

Can't believe I'm on the home stretch! 3/4 way through the first draft. When I read my story I feel really good about it till I pick up something like Toby Alone and think, "I don't know how to write anything!!!"
I find myself waking up and thinking about my characters but...when I sit in front of the computer screen, which is where I should be now, I'm blank! HELP! I always get into the writing when I have to go somewhere, like work, in just 10 minutes. Today I have all of Sunday and I'm typing… Continue
