About Me
SCBWI - I am the regional coordinator for the Central East Region.

Writing - I am the co-author of Turn Your Degree into a Career (How to Books) and the editor of a short story anthology Undercurrents (Gatehouse Press). I also reviews regularly for Carousel Magazine.

And? I also dance ecstatically to the Five Rhythms and live in Norwich.
What are you working on at the moment?
Ploughing on with redrafting my fantasy novel The Summoning of Freiya Rolandson- a gritty fantasy about a girl who has to choose between letting her father die or betraying him and ultimately herself.
If you were asked to recommend just one children's book published this year, what would it be?
Has to be the picture book Beware of the Frog by William Bee - a wacky idea and bright, cheerful illustrations.
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
You can't plan for everything.

Yes I was a Hong Konger from '78 - '90 and still regard it as 'home'.

I was at Island School '83 to '90 - and as you look younger than me I guess I was in Lower 6 when you were in 1st form (89?). I was actually a prefect at the first year camp that year - if you were in Fleming you may have been under my watch!

She is isn't she - she was the head of my Crit group in Winchester. Really knows what's she talking about...not like me - I wing most things (LOL).
Maybe I'll see you at one of the northern events (always confuses me that! North to me means Carlisle and Upwards...)?? There's quite a few events that are really worth driving down for :0)

Hey Benjamin, thanks for the comment! The new novel is going well; every time I get bored with it I go back and reconsider it and discover I still really like my characters, so I think that's a good sign. But it's going extremely slowly. I think that's just the nature of the beast, but a little aggravating.

Hah! No, not an odd question at all--of course I feel guilty that I've completely abandoned my heroine from my previous novel! It isn't usually so bad, but every so often I'll see things or do something that completely remind me of the book, and I feel so sad that my main character doesn't really have a life of her own yet, except on my computer's hard drive. But I think that's good... I can't abandon her completely, and I still love the story, so someday I might be a better mother to her. =)
