Profile

About Me
I am a retired Primary School Teacher. I have had three small picture books published, as well as several short stories and poetry in educational publications. I was a finalist in the BBC television writing competition, End of Story in 2004. Go to the BBC website and put in End of Story. Click on Fay Weldon and there's my story! My main interest is in picture books and the 7 to 9 age group.
What are you working on at the moment?
I'm working on a picture book at the moment - in fact on two, but they do need a lot of working on! I'm so grateful for my SCBWI group where everyone is so encouraging.
If you had to recommend just one children's book you've read in the last year, what would it be?
Not this year yet! I love the Diary of a Whimpy Kid, The Last Straw 2009 By Jeff Kinney.
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
This year? It's January 3rd 2011 - so just sit at that computer and get writing!

Thanks  Ann but as far as I know my work isn't at the Barber institute. Perhaps there is someone who has a similar name - if you spot this work please tell me more as I am curious now!
