Profile

About Me
I am a children's writer and teacher. I write stories across the age range from picture books to 12 plus. I am married with three children and two demanding goldfish. I like walking and cycling and talking and eating but mostly at different times. I am networks co-ordinator for the SCBWI and regional co-ordinator for the SCBWI in the North East.
What are you working on at the moment?
A 12 plus novel.
If you were asked to recommend just one children's book published this year, what would it be?
'The Ghost's Child' by Sonya Hartnett published by Walker. It is a beautifully written, surreal novel - so unusual and distinctive, I loved it.
What is the most important thing you learned about writing or illustrating this year?
Keep calm and carry on. I think that will apply to 2009 as well

Hi Addy
Sorry I haven't got back sooner, life got in the way for a bit. I'll aim to be there on 8th March. Hope you had a good turn out last time. I was in Edinburgh for the Agent's Party and it went really well, lots of useful tips.

Hi Addy
I was getting a little mixed up with the North & North East (I am now aware that by North you're meaning North of London!) Are there events going on in the North East (as in york) or is it all based in Lincoln?? Either ones just as easy for me, especially since you have made them on a Saturday.
