The June London Group Social will be at Kenwood House on Saturday 18th June, from 11:00am onwards. Partners and children very welcome to join us for this family event. The house and grounds are all FREE to get in. Bring a picnic lunch.
There will be a poetry workshop with Miriam Halahmy and a sketch crawl to draw the sculptures, lake and surrounding scenery with Anne-Marie Perks. The activities will last for approximately one and a half hours.
Miriam has been running her wonderfully relaxing outdoors workshop for several years and so far she assures me she has not been rained off! She will provide a different writing stimulus for each sculpture.
If it is raining, we will be able to use the inside of the house instead but, will probably have to split up into smaller groups. Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
There is a beautiful garden cafe with hot food as well as sandwiches and snacks. There are huge green spaces to picnic and play games with the children, although no actual playground equipment so bring Frisbees and balls, etc to play with.
It should be a fantastic SCWBI family day out. More details can be found on the website, including location, maps and travel advice: http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/daysout/properties/kenwood-house.
The nearest tube stations are: Archway and Golders Green, and then it is a fifteen minute walk, or you can take the 210 bus.
Please RSVP so we know who will be attending and we can ensure we all meet up just inside the entrance successfully.
You can message, Anita Loughrey via the Ning, or Facebook if you have any questions regarding this event.
